LUX'S BIO
Lux is a student at Omaha Central High School. They are passionate about topics like autism awareness, civic engagement, public policy, and ending gun violence. She was one the organizers and speakers at the gun violence walkout at Omaha Central High in September 2025. Lux enjoys painting, playing piano, and hanging out with family and friends in their spare time.

JONATHAN
(he/him)
Jonathan is involved with politics because despite discomfort, those of us with the capacity to fight for a better humanity have an obligation to act and train our replacements to carry on that mission indefinitely.
JONATHAN'S BIO
Jonathan is an organizer, campaign operative, and grassroots lobbyist. He has worked on partisan and nonpartisan initiatives, collaborated with other young leaders as an Operations Chair and Co-Chair of New Leaders Council Omaha; as well as alongside the organizations his friends are a part of. Against his own instincts, he’s even run for political office himself and hopes to use this experience to advise new leaders moving forward.
Jonathan is a graduate of University of Nebraska at Omaha with a degree in Political Science. In his full-time profession he enjoys feeding people, and will sporadically prepare large batches of food for community events. He believes that breaking bread with strangers is a lost art and considers community organizing the most fulfilling unpaid hobby he’s come across.

ALAIYA
(she/they)
Rooted in Black liberation and governed by concepts of self-determination, mutual responsibility and community care, Alaiya’s organizing efforts have been framed by her learned and lived experience in environmental justice.
ALAIYA'S BIO
Alaiya is a Birthworker, Land Steward, Community Herbalist, Scientist and Public Health advocate based in North Omaha. Rooted in Black liberation and governed by concepts of self-determination, mutual responsibility, and community care, Alaiya’s community organizing efforts have been framed by her experience, both learned and lived, in environmental justice. After witnessing the fragility of our systems during the onset of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic coupled with BLM uprisings and extreme weather events, Alaiya turned towards community cooperation and direct action through mutual aid and infrastructure development. Since 2021 Alaiya has worked and grown alongside many co-conspirators addressing the needs of the people from food sovereignty and community education with Omaha Sunflower Cooperative, Free Farm Syndicate, and Feed the People, to virus safety and accessibility tools with Clean Air Nebraska.
